![]() ![]() I have become aware of a couple of other people, one of this parrish, whose Gen Va's experienced issues, component failures within, and their Dacs could not be repaired due to lack of availability of parts. Mine (Paul's) was 16-17 years old when I bought it. I have since discovered two other people on forums that have experienced something similar.Īs has also been mentioned, these Dacs are now a little 'long in the tooth'. Three independent engineers took a look at it and all were surprised by the lack of protection in the circuit which could have prevented such major damage. I used it for about a year or so before some kind of power surge torched the majority of the insides. I bought Paul Riordan's Gen Va and was very happy with it. It is with regards to servicing and repairs, something that has been touched upon above. Stumbled upon this thread and felt compelled to share my experience, a word of caution to those interested in some of these old Dacs. ![]()
